Research interests:
Holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management from the University of the Free State. My research focus during my Master’s was on the socio-economic and ecological impacts of harvesting the devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) in the Bwabwata National Park. My interest has however, gradually changed biodiversity conservation in particular the effects of human activities on the biodiversity at all levels. I am also interested in restoration ecology and wildlife life management. Although I have not published any article yet, I have over 15 years of experience working in the field of conservation starting from park management to doing scientific research whilst in the employment of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. During this period, I have implemented various projects of the ministry such as the wildlife breeding stock loan scheme and conducted various feasibility studies for conservancies in the north west and southern Namibia, conducted wildlife census, patrols and law enforcement before relocating to the Namibia University of Science and Technology.
