Meed is an interdisciplinary conservation scientist with a background in both the natural and social sciences. She is broadly interest is in understanding interactions between society and natural resources (including wildlife). She has a strong focus on institutional arrangements for natural resource governance and how these influence conservation and social outcomes. Her current research focuses on rural livelihoods through understanding impacts of conservation interventions on livelihoods; and understanding the drivers of human wildlife conflict and impacts of such conflict on livelihoods of rural communities.
